'COURSE OUTLINE

The student will have the basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology and will be able to integrate that knowledge into practical application. Upon completion of this course the graduate may work as an independent contractor, sole proprietor, or an employee for someone else.

200-Hour Course Outline:
California statue requires that a student who successfully completes a course of study be awarded an appropriate diploma or certificate verifying the fact. A total of eight Massage Practitioner courses are offered over the course of one year (see schedule on side of page) consisting of 200 clock hours broken down as follows:

250 Hour Massage Practitioner
Students have an option to complete an additional 50 hours of curriculum to be eligible for state certificate (note this is a voluntary certificate offered by the state). The additional 50 hours can be completed by following classes: Advanced Clinic (20 hours) or Business/Ethics (20 hours), or Anatomy & Kinesiology 1 or 2 (32/28 hours). Then complete an additional 30 hours from 550 hour bodywork classes to total 250 hours.


550 Hour Massage Therapist Certification Course:
Students may enter this program at any time of the year, after completing CHI's 200 - Hour Massage Practitioner Program. Or, graduates of another 200 - hour state approved school are eligible to apply to this program. Or, massage professionals can take individual classes for personal and professional enhancement. Also, note that this program will meet the requirements for massage therapists that are interested in becoming Nationally Certified through NCTMB.
