Reflexology is an ancient form of bodywork that dates back thousands of years in Eygpt and China. They discovered that we have relex points in our hands, feet and ears that correspond to the rest of the body. We essentially have reflex points that when stimulated by pressure on the feet, hands and ears effect the body part we are intending on treating. We have these "mini maps" of the body on the hands, feet and ears.

Have you ever been limited working on some clients due to an injury or condition on that part of their body? Well, you can learn to treat that area that may have been limited to treat with massage, by treating their hands and feet! This can open more opportunities for you and give your clients relief faster, especially if it were contraindicated for them to receive massage.

Please call the school for more information and to register if interested at (805) 786-4808. The total cost for this 24 hour class is $300.

Come have a unique experience giving and receiving bodywork in a warm (96 degree F) pool of water. "Watsu" (Water Shiatsu) has been around since the early 1980's and is a rapidly growing modality here on the Central Coast. If your looking for something new and expanding, this is it. Learn what it is like to use water as a supportive medium as you move your client in a zero gravity environment without the limitations of a table. There is a "letting go" that happens in the water which is unlike anything else. People are often speechless after a session and often say it is one of the most amazing experiences they have had.

So, if you are curious and open to learning a new modality, a Basic Watsu class is coming up on April 27 - April 29 in Paso Robles. "CHI" is sponsoring the class, so the 20 hours of training can be transfered towards the 250 or 500 hour programs.

So much so, Ayurveda has been named as one of the top spa trends for 2010.
Ayurveda is thought to be the most ancient complete form of medicine on the planet being at least 2500 years old. Still today it is practiced by 300,000 physicians who form the largest medical organization in the world.
Though generally less well known in the west Ayurvedic treatments and those inspired by this ancient Indian science are fast becoming a main stream.
This class is designed to give students a practical grasp of the basic concepts behind Ayurvedic wisdom. Learn how to identify Ayurvedic body/mind types by using a variety of questionnaires, touch, observation and discussion. Then use this information to customize any massage or spa treatment in terms of:

• Treatment selection
    • Type of touch
    • Type of oil/lotion
    • Selection of aromas
    • Type of music
    • Color type of sheets or covers
    • Kinds of teas and snacks to serve
We will also cover basic Ayurvedic vocabulary so you will be able to converse with ease with your more “ayurvedically savy” clients. Extensive notes will be provided so students can concentrate on the learning experience and class participation.

Thank You,
