California Holistic Institute is located in the beautiful Central Coast cities of San Luis Obispo.
We offer three state approved certifications: 200 hour and 250 hour Massage Practitioner and 500 hour Massage Therapist. The Massage Practitioner Certification Program consists of 180 classroom hours and 20 internship hours. California Holistic Institute offers three evening and three day programs. The 200 Hour program is designed as an introduction to the exciting field of massage therapy (please see details on Course Outline page). Upon completion of this program, graduates meet the requirements in this county (and others in California) to practice massage therapy. However, there is a new state certification that is voluntary requiring 250 hours as a Practitioner to apply. Therefore, graduates have an option to continue and complete the additional 50 hours for the certificate. Please note that if one applies for the 250 hour state certificate, that all of the hours must be from the same institution.
Massage Practitioners are practicing in a myriad of places including health centers, spas, hotels, beauty salons, chiropractor's clinics, cruise ships, to name a few.
The Massage Therapist (500 hour) Certification Program covers an in depth study of anatomy, physiology, and pathology for body workers. Also, an additional 173 hours in a variety of massage & bodywork modalities. After completing the 500 hour program, the massage therapist would be eligible to take the National Certification Examination.
CHI's school has been designed to reflect a professional atmosphere conducive to learning. The facility provides a large classroom (maximum of 16 students), an administration office which is upstairs (Suite #207), with a library with books and videos relating to the profession.
California Holistic Institute of Therapeutic Massage is located at 11555 Los Osos Valley Road, Suite. 108 and Suite 207 (Office) in San Luis Obispo, California 93405. We are near the cross street of Madonna and across the street from the Laguna Plaza. There is plenty of parking available in the immediate area for your convenience.
