200 Hour Program

 
Students who wish to begin their massage therapy training with California Holistic Institute begin by enrolling in the 200  Hr Practitioner Program. Upon graduating this program students will be eligible to obtain a business license and begin working.  This is a state approved program which also offers a comprehensive introduction to our 500 hr Therapist program should a student wish to continue his/her education.
 
The 200 Hr Massage Practitioner Program consists of 180 classroom hours and 20 internship hours.  Course hours include lectures, hands-on and demonstrations, individual evaluation, basic anatomy and physiology specific to body work, business ethics/management, communication and documentation skills.  Upon completion graduates are eligible to receive a business license and begin practicing in San Luis Obispo County and various other counties in California.
 
The 200 Hr practitioner Program is offered six times per year.
 
Day Program 
Monday - Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

250 Hour Massage Practitioner

 
Students have an option to complete an additional 50 hrs of curriculum to be eligible for state certification as a CMP, "Certified Massage Practitioner" (Note this is a voluntary certification offered by the state).
 
A minimum of 20 hrs must come from one of these core classes:

Business/Ethics (20 Hrs.)
Anatomy & Kinesiology Upper Extremities (28 Hrs.)
Anatomy & Kinesiology Lower Extremities (32 Hrs.)
Physiology/Pathology (47 Hrs)
The remaining hours (to total 50) can be chosen from classes in the 500 hr curriculum.
